We assess biodiversity status of Rotifera known from India to-date based on our studies various regions this country and evaluation other viable records, highlight notable features biogeography richness. The Indian fauna reveals 434 valid species belonging to 68 genera 25 families thus indicates the most biodiverse vis-àvis south Southeast Asia, records ~25% ~41% global regional biogeographic interest. متن کاملPlant Diversity and Richness in Relation to Environmental Gradient in Zagros Ecosystems, West of Iran
Plant diversityis essential to maintain the health of planet's ecosystems. Conservation of biodiversity is necessary for the ecological stability and productivity in natural ecosystems. The aim of this research was to study the biodiversity and richness of plant species (including trees, shrubs and grasses) related to the environmental factors (soil and physiography) in the forests of Zagros, w...
متن کاملBiodiversity and Biogeography
As we have seen, life has been important in shaping its own environment throughout its 3.8 Ga* geologically recorded history. It has influenced earth-surface temperatures (Classes 2, 9, 10) through its involvement in the geochemical cycles that determine the world oceans salt content and the atmospheres composition (Classes 7-10). Overall, lifes effects have tended to compensate for the ther...
متن کاملPsammon rotifers in Central Vietnam, with the descriptions of three new species (Rotifera: Monogononta).
In order to address the dearth of information on Rotifera in Vietnam, and especially on rotifers inhabiting freshwater psammon in Southeast Asia, we collected and examined twenty-five hygropsammon samples from Bau Thiem Lake, Thua Thien Hue Province, central Vietnam. A total of eighty-nine species-level rotifer taxa were identified, belonging to 21 genera and 13 families. Of these, 48 taxa (54%...
